Where Are The JV Giveaway Updates?

Hey Guys.

You may have noticed that it’s been about three weeks since I have posted a new JV giveaway update on my blog or via email.  I was hoping nobody would notice but a few people have called me out on it.

Here’s the deal…  it’s a pain to update that list every week!

Ok, so maybe i’m a wuss.  It just got to the point where I would be out with my friends on Sunday night and in the back of my mind I am thinking I need to get home and update the giveaway list.  Then I get home and i’m stuck compiling a list of events at two in the morning so I can send it out before I go to bed.

The fact is that there are usually 5 or 6 new giveaway events announced every week but there are usually only 1 or 2 per month worth promoting.  That’s not to say that the other events are not worth joining because they are free and they do still get me signups.  It’s just a lot of work to do every week without much of a reward.

I’m still updating the calendar inside my JV Giveaway Tactics website.  That’s easy enough to do.  I’m just not sure if it’s worth the time to do the weekly blog post and email updates.

For example I just updated the calendar tonight.  I added 7 new giveaway events.  Of those 7, only 1 is really worth mentioning.  That one is the Goodfellas JV Giveaway.  That site is run on the latest giveaway script, has a unique domain name, and has all custom graphics.  The other giveaways are all cookie-cutter designs that are hosted in folders with probably 20 other websites.

Seriously, if you can’t afford $10 for a domain name how much faith am I going to put in you to be able to run a successful giveaway?

So I want to hear what you guys think.  I plan on keeping the calendar updated inside the JV Giveaway Tactics website.  Would you prefer that I keep doing the emails and blog posts listing all the current giveaways?  Or would you prefer just the occasionally announcement about new giveaways worth joining?

Lemme know!

  1. I really appreciate the email updates, however it would be more than enough if we were tipped off to those events that are “worth it”.

There sure are a lot of flops and it would be nice to know when those good ones are available. Thanks!

  2. Hi Jerry,

I have really appreciated your efforts to send out the list each week.

To me this is invaluable information that would otherwise take me a lot of time and effort to obtain.

I would like to continue to receive the weekly email but also understand this may be very demanding on your time.

Perhaps an RSS feed to which we can subscribe may make your life a little easier.

Whatever the outcome, please accept my thanks for all your hard work thus far.

    All the very best,

    Jeremy

  3. I hate to admit it but I like having you do all the work for me Jerry! I’ve been to busy to participate in giveaways lately but I need to get back to it. Appreciate all the work you put into keeping me updated.

    Thanks!

  4. Yeah, I apologize for being one of the ones to poke you about updating (lol)… but I look at the JV Giveaway Tactics folder frequently too and there (at the time) wasn’t anything listed past this week, so that’s why I finally asked lol.

As for where, personally I really don’t mind either way (whether it’s on the blog or in JVGT) ‘cos I usually look at both regularly so that doesn’t really matter to me which one/where.

But I’d have to echo what Lynette said… I’m really only interested in the ones you feel are really and truly worthwhile (like the one you just mentioned).

Perhaps with that in mind, maybe the thing to do would be update the JVGT calendar relatively regularly but maybe send out a mail and/or special blog post when there’s one that needs a serious heads up, like the Goodfellas one? I’m not really sure what the best process would be but I’d be happy enough with something like that.

  5. Hey Jerry, thanks for the blog and the clarification as to why we weren’t getting the email updates anymore. No problem for me if you only want to update the website. However, maybe a weekly email (with the link) to remind us that you’ve updated it. And how about putting a star or something next to the ones you recommend? It’s such a waste of time to sign up for all of them and then find out they’re not really worth the bother. You can spot the lousy ones right away, but we can’t.

    Keep up the good work.
